About: Over the last 18 years, I am trying to address the critical problem of dichotomy between technical/academic excellence and commitment to social justice through UK-India collaborations in the following two broad areas: (1) Working with Government Organisations and international bodies (e.g. the World Health Organisation, Association for Medical Education in Europe) to strengthen public sector healthcare & medical education in the face of the pressures to decimate the public sector; and (2) Working with the civil society in India providing assistance to democratic and community-based organisations and initiatives, also promoting collaboration and resource sharing within community-based health and education initiatives
