About: Geofrey Monari Ombui is a Kenyan biostatistician, medical statistician, and strategic information specialist with more than a decade of experience in public health, monitoring and evaluation, health systems strengthening, and data analytics. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Statistics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), and a Master of Science in Biometry from the University of Nairobi. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Medical Statistics at the University of Nairobi, where his research focuses on advanced statistical modeling of disease outcomes and public health data. Professionally, Geofrey has contributed to national and international health programs in Kenya, including blood transfusion and transplant services, HIV/AIDS programs, monitoring and evaluation systems, policy development, and health information management. His expertise spans Bayesian statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, strategic information, GIS and spatial analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization. He has supported government institutions, development partners, and health organizations in strengthening evidence-based decision-making and improving health outcomes through rigorous data analysis and research. His work combines statistical innovation with practical public health applications, particularly in disease surveillance, health service delivery, and health policy development. Academically, Geofrey is recognized for his commitment to research, capacity building, and scientific inquiry. His interests include Bayesian hierarchical modeling, cancer epidemiology, non-communicable diseases, HIV research, and health systems analytics. He is passionate about mentoring young researchers, advancing statistical science in Africa, and leveraging data-driven approaches to address complex health challenges. Through his research, professional leadership, and service to the community, he continues to contribute to the advancement of public health and evidence-based policy in Kenya and beyond.
